our "adventure" continues

today i have a mixture of feelings. but tomorrow's another day. dave yet again took the trains into NYC to see about finding work. i applied to http://www.etsy.com
i mean what do i have to loose, right?

i'm trying my best not to stress over the fact that neither of have a job. i'm working on getting my photo business off the ground. dave is looking for work in NYC, NJ and Philly. his goal is to work as an Editor for tv and film.

i need to see a neuro for my follow up from my relapse and we need to set jayden up with a pediatrician.

then i get a convo through etsy. i was just interviewed as part of an article about craftdelphia that will be held on Nov. 22nd at the Mew Gallery. how cool is that? :D as soon as the article is published, i'll post it here too!

so, i'm trying my HARDEST to remain positive!

ok, so we leave NM and we're trudging along towards our ultimate goal, New Jersey.
we rolled into amarillo, texas very late one evening. upon waking up i was so excited to see that our Super 8 Motel was right next to the American Quarter Horse Association!
i grew up riding these and arabians. i used to ride english, dressage, and show jumping :)

here is a rest stop somewhere in texas:

they had an actual tornado shelter....i can see why...
we got some M&M's and my mom found these:

light bulb M&M
heart shaped M&M
We drove into Oklahoma and of course did a cute video in homage to Dirty Rotten Scoundrels:

i know, i'm re-posting that clip of ours, but it's really funny! we did these for paul, our friend in los angeles as it's one of his all time favorite movies :D

in oklahoma we stopped to eat a NICE steack dinner at the famous Cattleman's Steakhouse! OMG, my mouth is watering just typing this blog and thinking about it!
that above is my PERFECT medium rare steak!!!!
of course jayden decides to be a major pain the the butt 2 year old! and tries out her screaming out loud techniques!

about tonight

before i continue about our cross country story(that is WAAAY overdue!) let me talk about what happened to me tonight.

tonight i went to the northern burlington regional chamber of commerce's 2nd annual make the connection business expo.

long title, huh?

anyway, it was from 5:30pm-8:30pm. it was overall pretty small, but really great. it was catered with nice food and drinks. not sit down or buffet. i passed around my business card for my etsy shoppe and my 4x6 promos that looks like these:

i think i made a few connections, i just pray that i get some long lasting clients from tonight.

THANK GOD for our family!!!!

They opened their home to us, weary travellers with a 2 year old and a dog and let us stay, rest and site see a bit. I haven't been there since 1990, and now my cousins are older :D it was great to see them and their dogs as well!

i actually did get some work done! there's my friend erin on skype ;) yes, i was working on a website re-design for a business in los angeles. while achy and tired and on heavy duty medications. the good thing about this was that it took my mind off of how i was feeling :D

i got some great shots of the balloon festival too!

there was so much to be thankful, i mean getting to destinations safely, being with family and getting great photographs!

now some stuff about our trip!

i took SOOOO many photos! but it was GREAT!

the trip overall was a great experience and if you are writer or a photographer, it's a must! but if you are on step down medications of steroids like i was, i was a bit crazy and it does weird stuff do you :(

well that and the fact we were driving cross country with my mom, dave, a 2 year old, a diabetic dog and a crazy lady with MS, yeah, we needed a tv crew to follow us! LOL

cramped as we were, to see the US like we did was amazing and we saw amazing places. some weird stuff too:D

we had planned on going to graceland, but we then found out that it was very $$$$ per person, plus we would have to leave canela(our pooch) alone in a motel. so we tried to see the meteor crater. but this was as far as we got:
it was also too $$ per person and canela, well we didn't want to leave her alone. that's ok :)

in flagstaff, arizona, someday we'll go back. we have been to the grand canyon already years ago, but, we'll go again when jayden's older.
a random shot:
we did get to see the petrified forest and the painted forest. OMG! it was GORGEOUS! and i was so amazed how large the skies are!

here are me, dave and my mom at the painted forest. jayden was asleep ;)

the photo below was shot during a diaper change somewhere in new mexico:
another diaper change :)

we arrived in Albuquerque, N.M. very weary, worn out and exhausted. and i was on step down steroids, so being amongst family for a few days, was so WONDERFUL!
